Positivity in Action: Taking it to the Next Level

August 22nd, 2012

“Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it.
But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people.” –Albert Einstein

Some days I deeply miss my old daily ritual positivity post.  Back when my days always concluded with written reflection on the different ways of relating to my life positively, I enjoyed learning how to document what I was learning as much as the learning itself.  Slowly practicing positivity in the world took up more of my time and in place of the daily writing I am creating on a bigger canvas.   In many ways I have just as much, maybe even more to record than before now that I am actively leading so many positivity projects in the world. Still, there is nothing like the organized recording of a life to gain insight into where it is working and what needs more attention.

One major activity that has replaced a lot of writing time has come in the form of speaking.  I am teaching again and loving it. Translating my own efforts in positivity training into ideas that help cancer patients and returning veterans re-think how to approach their own lives is deeply gratifying. Life at its best is about offering your own development, aspirations, and even  your weaknesses to the world. This is the literal transmission of love.

Another one of my favorite weekly activities has been the development of Lunch with the Loveologist, my weekly radio show on LAtalkradio.com where, over the last two years, I have had the amazing opportunity to listen to some of life’s most visionary thinkers, authors, healers and teachers.  Now I am preparing to bring this work to the next level, too.  I have just been offered a spot on a progressive AM radio morning program in the SF bay area.  My new show, “The Opening Door” will begin on Saturday September 14th.  It will be available online at www.theopeningdoor.com for those who aren’t in the Bay area.

The title of the show comes from an old love song that was part of Elton John’s Tumbleweed Connection.  In it he sings  “Love is the opening door, Love is what we came here for, no one could offer you more…” My hope is that in this new shorter more focused format, we will all learn to look for and listen to the love that surrounds us. The show sponsors are people who spend their lives working at producing healing product, providing educational support and supporting the growth of healthy intimate relationships.  I am honored to share their stories.  Stay tuned… more to come.
